About the position

As a Solutions/Software Architect within Electricity Market Applications, you work at the intersection of business, architecture, and development. You develop, anchor, and communicate solutions that span multiple systems and business areas and support various teams in realizing them in practice.

The unit is responsible for systems that support Svenska kraftnät's role in the electricity market, from application and management of various market actors to information exchange with electricity exchanges, Nordic and European parties, as well as settlement and financial flows related to electricity and balancing markets.

You work very closely with the Balancing Applications unit and with architectural functions (domain architects, business architects) to realize target architecture and develop sustainable solutions.

You step into an environment with extensive change and development work, where you gradually modernize the system landscape. The role combines strategic responsibility with hands-on work in technology, and you have great freedom to influence both technical choices and working methods.

Together, you ensure that Sweden neither goes dark nor stops.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and anchor solution proposals that span multiple systems and domain boundaries.
• Work hands-on with development teams through design support, code reviews, and technical choices.
• Act as a coach and mentor for development teams and specialists through technical workshops, design support, and ongoing guidance.
• Interpret and break down needs into concrete and sustainable design choices.
• Select appropriate integration patterns based on needs and non-functional requirements.
• Participate in technical design meetings, reviews, and support in analyzing operational and integration issues.
• Actively contribute to architecture modernization and realization of target architecture through your own experiences.

About you

Must-haves:

We are looking for someone who combines technical depth with very strong communication and collaboration skills. You are attentive and pedagogical and can explain technical solutions at the right level based on the audience and situation. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy helping colleagues.

Furthermore, you like to take initiative and drive work forward. At the same time, you have endurance and understand that change in critical societal systems requires structure and long-term thinking. As a person, you are humble and unpretentious, but at the same time clear and driven. We place great importance on your personal qualities in this recruitment.

You also have:

• Several years of relevant experience as a solutions architect or as a senior system developer with clear architectural responsibility
• Strong technical background in modern IT technologies and scalable distributed systems
• Experience working closely with development teams
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Ability to develop and communicate technical solutions visually and tailored to the audience
• Experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD)
• Practical experience with integrations and integration patterns (APIs, messages/events, batch/file flows, error handling, idempotence, versioning, contracts) and choosing these based on needs and requirements
• Experience with container platforms, CI/CD, and observability (e.g., Kubernetes/OpenShift, microservices)
• Experience working with many stakeholders and requirements for traceability and governance
• Experience in the public sector or within the energy sector
